Title: Issues with 5030L
Post by: jwhitler on March 29, 2017, 06:20:44 AM
Have four Dlink cams recording to the DNR-202L, a 2630, two 936's and the 5030...the 5030 continuously reverts to 640x480 resolution and will not let me change to 720p, have tried in different browsers and different PCs...have it hard wired but have also tried wireless...no issues with any of the other cameras...all firmware is up to date...help

What happens if you turn OFF all other cameras and just test the 5030 alone?

What video modes are you using when you log into the camera?
Any profiles set up?
Try a factory reset and set up from scratch and test.
Does the mydlink Lite app able to use 720p?

There information on how to set up 720p in the user manual?

Are those 2630Ls in 1080?

logging into camera with firefox and IE11 on win10 through the direct interface, no I haven't tried shutting down other cams (shouldn't make a difference) as this happens inthe direct cam interface, both 936L allow their max of 720p and the 2630L 1080p...the 5030 allows me to change bandwidth and fps to max and will stay that way...allows me to change to 720 but switches back to 640x480 after saving...will have to try a factory reset I guess, was trying to avoid the hassle...side note, same result through the DNR202 interface, even when stopping recording through other three cameras...all four recording 24/7...no, doesn't show as option in mydlink lite....other side note, it was originally working in 720p, just one day wasn't...

Only thing I can think of is that the bandwidth is becoming saturated maybe and the 5030L is changing back to a lower resolution. Why you might try turning OFF all other cameras and test after doing a factory reset. If it's still won't remain on this resolution then, might phone contact D-Link support.

Any other devices on your network or wireless?
What are you using for your wireless AP?
What wireless modes are you using?

bandwidth shouldn't be an issue, 100+ mbps down 20 up, using dlink DIR 890L triband with asus ac1900 as hardwired secondary access point upstairs to extend coverage all set to ac/n, all bands running as identical...maximum coverage...and the 5030L is hard wired, so bandwidth or competition should not be an issue, will try reset when have time, will then exchange if not solved

As mentioned above, the DNR202L does max out.  It probably forces any camera to a lower resolution if it can't handle it.

You have not removed the 2630Ls, provided information at what resolution you are using with any camera, CBR/VBR, etc.  You just keep trying the 5030L at 720p. I don't get it.

Back the 2630ls down to 720p if you have on 1080p and use a fixed quality of something slower as a test.

If the 5030L doesn't work at 720p with no other cameras, then it's a dnr202l/5030L issue and dlink should look into a f/w fix.  This camera is on the compatible list, so it might be something in your setup.

Then try the 5030L back to 720p.

Any status on this?  ???

im using 3 camera..5222l x 2 pic & 5030l x 1 pic.
I think only 5030 is problem at all.
Before it run in 1280x720 but suddenly now just run on 640x480.
Already upgraded all firmware provide officially.
But it still back to 640x480 by itself even saving the setting.
Also in Android apps itself..no more view option to change from 480 to 720...it hang on 480 only.
It not only effected on camera itself but also in dnr 202l.
Please guide to solve.

What Mfr and model is the main host router?
What wireless modes are you using?
What is the distance between the Camera and the main host router?
How many other wireless devices do you have connected to the main host router?

What are your setting in the DNR-202L for all the cameras?
