Title: Edison power outages/glitches - killed 3 930Ls so far
Post by: acellier on September 30, 2016, 02:27:16 PM
SoCalEdison is doing a big multi-month revamp/rewiring job in our neighborhood.
The result has been pretty devastating to my DCS-930L cameras. I have about 6 at any one time here, and another 2 remotes a few blocks away (they are on a UPS!).
I lost the first 2 on 2 different occasions in August, and the 3rd a few days ago.
The first two differed in failure mode,  one seemed to be responsive (after re-programming) but then exhibited overheating and is lost. The second (version A3) had it's brain scrambled, calling itself a 930 6L, and wants a different password (we factory reset - should be blank). Also, overheats.
The latest suffered a bizarre scrambling of setup parameters, requiring visit to each and every screen. But, seems to be working so far.

Any ideas for how to completely erase and restore the first 2?

See if you can do a recovery mode and reload of the FW there?

I would also check the power adapter of all cameras and make sure they are still out putting the correct voltages as listed on the sticker.
