It's disappointing to me that I buy a new product and right out of the box have problems that I can't seem to find ANY response from the manufacturer about. I have sent a number of polite emails without a single response. That is completely terrible customer service.

Despite the false claims on the box that the product supports Macintosh, this truly is not the case.

I will be taking my complaints to the social media world. Not only my complaints of this specific issue, but my complaints of the complete lack of customer support by a company that I once had respect for.

Anyone interested in buying a barely used (usable) DNS-323?

Although you may have purchased your DNS-323 as new, this model was phased-out of the D-Link ShareCenter product line on 2/5/2012. Did you try calling D-Link technical support to address your issue? If not, I think you will find the live technical support more responsive than email. I also recommend posting your question(s) as a new topic in the DNS-323 board so other users have an opportunity to help.

Agreed. I am about to start testing Alt-F ( http://code.google.com/p/alt-f/ ) simply because the D-Link firmware for the DNS-323 is still missing basic functionality that other NAS systems I run have, like hanging a backup drive on the USB port and letting the NAS back itself up. Or fixing the FTP server, which is STILL broken after all of these years in it's inability to support an encrypted data channel (always drops back to a clear channel). And yet D-Link wasted time on garbage like "iTune Servers".

Been using ALT for a while, no problems. And extra features, like newer EXT system support, larger HD suppor etc.

Hi.

Many people say they update to 1.10 for formatting, then revert to 1.09 for stable operation.
I can't find 1.09 anywhere.  D-Link only provides firmware 1.10 now.

Can anyone help me find 1.09?

Hi, What is the max capacity HDD that can be used in the DNS-323 these days?  Any recommendations on which drive to move up to?  I'm Still rocking along with 4TB total between 2 drives, can I go up to 6TB or 8TB total?

I'm running firmware 1.09 since Feb 2010
