DCH 150 No Signal to Find the Sensor?
« on: September 05, 2015, 06:04:13 AM »

I just bought the DCH 150.  Added the home app to my droid.  The connection process went well on the WPS and I got the solid green light.  However a search for the sensor on the droid failed.  I even used my laptop to look for the wifi signal of the sensor.  Nothing showed up to connect it to the droid.

I reset and reconnected two more times with the same result.

The box appeared to have been opened before and there were no instructions inside other than the GPL waiver.  Did I get a bad unit that was repackaged?

You might return the unit of a un-opened package and see.

Use the SSID name and PW on the WiFi router to connect the device instead of WPS.

I had the same problem.
I use my dlink products connected to an Engenius router.
I tried to connect the new bought DCH S150 sensor to my DlinkHome app.
After trying several times I installed a D-link router DIR 605N , connected my smartphone and the sensor and within 3 seconds the sensor was connected to my DlinkHome app and everything worked fine.
Because my home network uses the Engenius router, I reconnected all my stuff back to the Engenius  router and it keeps working.
So, Dlink says you can use it with all routers with WPS function but it does NOT.
Hope this helps solving your problem.

btw the same problem occurs with the DSP-W215 Smart Plug

Does the DCH devices connect if you don't use WPS and use the SSID name and PW?

Since the DCH-S150 can only be connected by usung WPS (it has no Ethernet port) this is no option.
Connecting my smartphone with the DCH-S150 is possible but then I have no internet connection.
I tried it with more routers and only first connection is possible with a D-link router.

Possible that there maybe some sort of incompatibility with other routers. I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email or FB> https://www.facebook.com/mydlink?fref=ts.
Let us know how it goes please.

I sent it back and the next one worked.  The new one tanked after a firmware update, but after resetting, I did notice that my phone needed to be on the same wifi signal/modem as the device.  (I have 2 wifi servers in my place.)
