my DI 524 netwoork key
« on: September 13, 2010, 04:28:40 PM »

I know this is the wrong forum to post this in but I cannot see anything resembling my D Link router. Thanks if anyone can help.
I just moved and WAS using a Telus modem/router but moved and switched to Shaw cable as my ISP. They supply the modem but not the router so I revived my very old D Link 524 and it works perfectly and I get a great signal all through my apartment on two laptops.
My problem is this; I want to set up a third, older laptop as a backup. I am using a Belkin PC Card modem to get the signal which is excellent. (and it always worked perfectly before I moved)
BUT ... I cannot connect to the web because the Wireless Network Properties keep asking me to put in a Network key. (there are 8 digits in there already but I don't know what they are.
If I try to guess what it might be, it tells me I need an 10 or 13 digit key.
I can't find anything written down to find out the network key.
Does anyone know HOW to find it or make it show?

Of course I need to connect to my existing network.
Thanks for being tolerant,

Bob
