How to keep camera IP addresses numbers from changing
« on: July 09, 2016, 02:42:58 PM »

For some reason my router started to change IP addresses numbers.  My DNR was on 120 now has changed to 180, did a reset and it is back to 120. some of my cameras have changed as well which is causing a problem with the DNR 322L camera set up as you have to put in the IP address of each camera.

Any way of making sure everything stays on the same IP address.

Update I just put the IP address 180 for a camera and got the DNR 322L login screen! but could not log in. If I access camera via mydlink web page and go in via advanced settings I get the 180 IP and can log into camera from there, but it is the same IP address!

I am just putting the last part of the IP address in this post for space I have left out 192.168.0 before  number.

Thanks Bob

May have solved the problem I think the unit crashed, the light on the front keeps going from white to red!  Tried a complete rest but nothing changed. Need to find the warranty on this as I have not had it for that long. I am getting by with an old trusty Linksys E3200 router I pulled from my junk pile, but it is still working.

I recommend setting Static IP addresses ON Cameras and DNRs since they don't need much, if any router management. Static IP addresses should be outside of the main host routers default DHCP IP address pool. i.e. 192.168.0.100 -.200. Static IP addresses should reside on either side of this pool range.
