Title: Motion sensing only working 4-5 feet through a window
Post by: marknohr on October 29, 2015, 11:49:29 AM
Camera is pointing outside at a walkway that approaches the house. the camera is about 10 feet from the entry door and the field of view covers 15 feet of the walkway. You need to be almost in front of the window to trigger the motion detection. Window is clean

Can you temporarily put the camera on the other side of the glass, out side, and test?
Possible that there is some glass angle or interferences possible. Not sure though.

I was incorrectly thinking the gridded off region/s are the do not detect region/s and the clear video regions were the areas of interest.

Now that I have it straight/ things are working as advertised.
I see example videos on the web showing the ability to draw regions rather than select large blocks. This level of specificity would be much better.
Also having the camera place a marker on the object that caused the motion detection would be helpful as I'm finding a lot of triggers that I cannot discern the cause for.
