Title: Intermittent remote access via dlink website
Post by: sancho70 on February 09, 2012, 11:53:22 AM
I installed this camera and hooked it up wrelessly at home- wps connection. After testing the wireless connection through the dlink wbsite ( while at home ) everything was working fine. The first couple of days when trying to connect form work- the dlink website says the camera is offline and the refrsh feature does nothing. Did some research on here and followed their recommendations- still no connection at work but fine through their website at home. Tried it again from work- and I am magically connected and it is working. So I am getting used to it and change a couple things on advanced setting such as picture quality, etc. Worked fine yesterday from work but today I am getting the same message as before- camera is offline. Does anyone have a fiox for this? I read some posts that someone's work firewall was blocking it. I was thinkning that could be my issue but how could it work fine for a few days then not work again. Could it be my firewall at home that is blocking it? But if it were that, wouldn't I have trouble viewing the camera on their website as well? Any help would be appreciated.

I originally had this problem and discovered the wireless signal was too low causing intermittent connectivity issues while using the remote D-Link access.  Added additional router closer to the cameras which increased signal strength to 85% and higher.  Never been an issue since.
