my computers other than my main one are having trouble with DNS ..My service provider says if one machine is on line then its the fault of the other machines that cant get on internet , they can how ever get on my network OK ... Now when i reboot my router and my modem and phone in to my service provider and ask them to clear my CMTS ...it some times takes them doing it a few times .. BUT.. all my machines can get internet including  gaming machines WII or PS3 ..they keep telling me it my router ??? or my computers  ,  or my game boxes or my WD wireless adaptor
i am handycapped and can not get out to the garage where my son has his man cave ..lol.. to turn off and on the other computers & gaming machines that are the ones that have the most trouble with getting the internet  so if you need those machines to be fiddled with it would have to be during a time when he is here ..week days after supper .. i am located in Regina SK Canada for time reference.. i still have team viewer hooked up my email is justin-lilley@msn.com ..thanks

  • What Hardware version is your router? Look at sticker under router.
  • Link>What Firmware version is currently loaded? Found on the routers web page under status.
  • Turn off Advanced DNS Services if you have this option under Setup/Internet/Manual or under Setup/PARENTAL CONTROL/Set to>None: Static IP or Obtain Automatically From ISP.
  • Enable Use Unicasting (compatibility for some ISP DHCP Servers) under Setup/Internet/Manual.
  • Turn on DNS Relay under Setup/Networking. Link>Finding Faster DNS Addresses using Name Bench
  • Setup DHCP reserved IP addresses for all devices ON the router. Setup/Networking. This ensures each devices gets its own IP address when turned on and connected, eliminates IP address conflicts and helps in troubleshooting.
  • Ensure devices are set to auto obtain an IP address.
  • If IPv6 is an option on the router, select Local Connection Only or Disable IPv6 options under Setup/IPv6.
  • Set Firewall settings to Endpoint Independent for TCP and UDP under Advanced/Firewall. Enable or Disable SPI to test.

OK, thought they should be reviewing there stuff as well. Once that's done, let me know. Make sure a PC is directly connected to there modem first with out the router being online. Once you get confirmation that the speed is good with there equipment, then connect the router up.

Keep us posted.
