It does not matter how I try. The web based interface to DCS-2230 donīt accept the path to the FTP. My input data is correct for all other FTP-software. I can give the string in the URL-field in a browser, finding correct folder without problem.
What did I miss or what do I have to do that I īm not aware of for DCS-2230 setup?
Best regards

if you use the dot symbol in the path does not work >:( >:(

Hello MarTM,
No. There is no dot symbol in the path to the folder.
I tried IP-number in the server address as well as name from NO-IP. There must be dots. Neither works.

Can you share more information about your setup?
My 5222L sucked big time until I hit the latest firmware.. and then the directory paths work...
I had no issues with the 2132L on FTP paths...
*my 2230 is on the way ;)

Hello RYAT3,
Tried to put a screendump here but donīt know how to.
Anyway, I am using the latest firmware, filling the fields in usual manner:
Server address: IP-number, Port: 21, valid username and password, remote folder as usual with preceeding slash and passiv mode.

Have you tried to leave out the preceeding slash?
I noticed a very interesting difference between the DC-930L and DCS-2132L cameras: the first one allows a slash in the pathname, but the last one doesn't... :P

Hello Popovice,
No. I have tried without preceeding slash. It does not work

Just to clarify - You are trying FTP at the root directory, without a subfolder?

Good morning,
Path is: /Seagate_Expansion_Drive/Seagate/FTP

Appears to have worked..f/w 1.10.02
(http://s18.postimage.org/lvivxyf1h/ftp2230.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/lvivxyf1h/)
My DCS-2132L requires backslash on subfolders... f/w 1.00.06... this drive is attached to my router USB port and set up as FTP device...

Well, let us know if you find anything that works...and what is your F/W version, and other configuration settings?

Now I have completely run out of ideas. F/W is the latest 1.10.02.

You did try changing this:
Path is: /Seagate_Expansion_Drive/Seagate/FTP
to:
Path is: Seagate_Expansion_Drive/Seagate/FTP
Where is your ftp server and what software is it running, is there any security, or is it plain FTP?
I have a harddrive attached to my router (the Seagate), and an iUSBport wireless connected to my router running it's own ftp server.
Are there any special characters in your FTP password? trying using a text only password in your username and password.
I guess I'm out of ideas without any more information.

"With a little help from my friends"
Good morning.
I tried simplifying the password and in combination with no preceeding slash in the FTP-path: SUCCESS!
Thanks for helping a happy amateur!

Hi here
It seems its problem with firmware. I had same problem which disappeared after firmware upgrade to 1.10.02

Uppgrading the firmware did not help. The solution was using a simpler password. Also, the path cannot be poceeded of a slash.
Now it works excellent.

Hi I encountered the same Problem. I'm not able to etablish aany connection to an FTP Server.
Could it be due to the @ in the username (which i can't remove on my hosted server) ?
I tried to solve this problem for about 6 hours today but couldn't figure out a solution.
My ftp server runs with unix, I'm using Safari (also tried Firefox) with Mac OS 10.8.3

More than likely. You should have quit while you were ahead.
