I have 300mb service but only ~150 of that makes it out of the 880. If I go wired to to my PC or wifi from the Hitron cable modem/router  from the ISP I get 300+mb.  Cat 6 from a port on it to the WAN port on my 880L.  The 880L only delivers ~150mb to wired or wifi devices.  Ideas?

• What Hardware version is your router? Look at sticker under the router case.
• Link>What Firmware version is currently loaded? Found on the routers web page under status.
• What region are you located?
• If the ISP modem has a built in router, it's best to bridge the modem. Having 2 routers on the same line can cause connection problems: Link>Double NAT and How NAT Works. Call the ISP and ask to see if the ISP modem can be bridged. To tell if the modem is bridged or not, look at the routers web page, Status/Device Info/Wan Section, if there is a 192.168.0.# address in the WAN IP address field, then the modem is not bridged. If the modem can't be bridged then see if the modem has a DMZ option and input the IP address the router gets from the modem and put that into the modems DMZ. Disable ALL WiFi radios on the modem. Also check the routers DHCP IP address maybe conflicting with the ISP modems IP address of 192.168.0.1. Check to see if this is the same on the ISP modem, and if modem can't be bridged, change the DIR router to 192.168.1.1 or .0.254.

I am working with the ISP to enable bridge mode (it can be) as it does indeed look like I'm in a double NAT scenario here (The dlink reports an internet IP address of 192.168.0.# and a LAN IP address of 192.168.100.1 ). Hardware version A1.  The mydlink.com page does not report the firmware version on the Router Status tab.  I DMZ'd the dlink IP address in the hitron (cable co. modem/router) setup with no changes in performance.  There are no IP conflicts.

I appreciate the response and tips.  I'm probably in the "new router" market at this point given the >4.5 years of service I've gotten from this one, so if bridge mode doesn't resolve the issue it won't be worth spending more time on it vs replacing it.

Id either try a factory reset and use the DMZ or try AP mode on the 880L to see if the speed changes. I've seen some information that some DMZs don't work well on ISP modems.

Ya, the 880L is getting to be long in the pants and probably due for retirement or use it as a wireless client in wireless bridge mode for something.

I think at this point I'm in the "I've more than gotten my money's worth - the old 880L is fully depreciated so it's time for a replacement" position.  I'm not convinced continuing to throw darts is worth the time, and with a budget of ~$350-$400 I'm willing to drop on a replacement I'm pretty sure I can find one that's reasonably future-proofed for the next 4-5 years.  This one's served us well enough, but it seems like it may be time for a change.
