Any status on this?  ???

My Galaxy S5 has no issue connecting on 5GHz with QOS enabled. And my MBP as no issue (after 24hrs) with QOS disabled. I have spoken to L2 of both manufacturers, with varying degrees of helpfulness, who both suggest it's the other's fault.

Likely not relevant, but I'll put it here. I'm also having an issue with my MBP where hot swapping USB 2 devices locks up all USB input (including the built in keyboad and trackpad). Just in case there is a link.

Sorry, I wasn't being notified of these posts. I gave up. Contacted D-Link call centre many times and L1/L2 just fumble around uselessly. I get told they have to escalate it to level nth and nobody ever calls back. Rinse and repeat. All relevant info is in this thread already I think.

My MBP works fine on AC5ghz, as does my Galaxy S5. Then I implement QOS for any device (I want a Windows PC to have priority). I boot up my MBP, it tries to connect, then we get a crash/boot cycle on the router.

Ok lets try this, download the last FW update from the web site and unpack the zip file.
Use IE or FF only, and disable any 3rd party browser add-ons and disable security SW on the PC.
Disconnect all devices accept the wired PC. Including the ISP modem. Will connect the ISP modem later. Just test with out it for now.
Factory reset the router using the UI or the button.
Reload  the FW file.
Factory reset once more after the FW was processed.
Set up the router from scratch.
Set single mode N on both radios and give separate SSID names for each radio.
Set Open security on WiFi temporarily. Will enable WPA2 later.
Set up a reserved IP address for the wired PC.
Turn on the MBP and see if it connects. If so, give a reserved IP address and save settings.
Reboot the router with the PC.
Place the MBP into QoS at a high or low section.
Place the PC into the high or highest section.

Anything happen using this process up to this point?
If the problem still happens here then I'm thinking the router needs to be RMAd.

Let us know...

Have the same issue with the same client HW?

How did you disable QoS?

MacBook Air mid 2014 os x 10.10 - the same QoS issue with the 1.02b13 firmware. Didn't had time to tried with 1.03 from ftp.link.ru because that new firmware have a bug regarding guest mode wifi and I need it. PPPoE connection, 1 gigabit speed download, 100 megabit speed upload. Another issue that I found is with vpn, I cannot see the lan or the router (ping request timeout). I can access vpn only to obtain the router ip.

  • What region are you located?
  • Are you wired or wireless connected to the router? Doe it happen on both connections?
  • Has a Factory Reset been performed?
  • Was a Factory Reset performed before and after any firmware updates then set up from scratch?

Internet Service Provider and Modem Configurations
  • What ISP Modem Mfr. and model # do you have?
  • Is ISP Modem/Service using Dynamic or Static WAN IP addressing?
  • What ISP Modem service link speeds UP and Down do you have?
  • Check ISP MTU requirements, Cable is usually 1500, DSL is around 1492 down to 1472. Call the ISP and ask. Link>Checking MTU Values

When directly connection to the router, can you ping 192.168.0.1 from the command line?

Did you update the Mac to 10.10.2?

- Romania
- I have a pc wired, 3 laptops, 2 tablets and 3 phones wireless. The QoS issue (router reboot after reboot) appears only if I set the MacBook Air on the high priority, otherwise no
- yes, two times
- factory reset was before and after flashing the firmware update

- ONT Huawei EchoLife HG865
- dinamic wan ip adress
- 1 gigabit speeds down and 100 megabit speeds up
- it's too late to call the ISP provider to find out the MTU, but yahoo.com responds to my pings until 1464 (started from 1458)
- can I ping 192.168.0.1 (0%loss)
- I have updated my os x to 10.10.2
thank you

Are you getting a private IP address or a public IP address on the router?

  • If the ISP modem has a built in router, it's best to bridge the modem. Having 2 routers on the same line can cause connection problems: Link>Double NAT and How NAT Works. Call the ISP and ask to see if the ISP modem can be bridged. To tell if the modem is bridged or not, look at the routers web page, Status/Device Info/Wan Section, if there is a 192.168.0.# address in the WAN IP address field, then the modem is not bridged. If the modem can't be bridged then see if the modem has a DMZ option and input the IP address the router gets from the modem and put that into the modems DMZ. Also check the routers DHCP IP address maybe conflicting with the ISP modems IP address of 192.168.0.1. Check to see if this is the same on the ISP modem, and if modem can't be bridged, change the DIR router to 192.168.1.1 or .0.254.
Example of a D-Link router configured for PPPoE with ISP Modem bridged: PPPoE Configuration on a Router

I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.
Let us know how it goes please.
