Title: 2 xbox's cant join the same party on xboxlive over this router
Post by: fouroaks on November 15, 2012, 10:15:58 AM
Ive been trying to work this out on XBL forum for a while. all my settings seem to be correct ( UPnP, NAT type: open, no port forwarding or triggering, IP settings on Xbox's are auto).

The two Xbox can play online separately, when either one of them attempts to join the others party it disconnects from Xbox live.

According to the microsoft website, Xbox live only supports the Hardware version 1A and Firmware: 1.00NA.

My router has B1 and 2.00NA. is there a way to downgrade?

Thanks

Does your Rev B1 have a QoS section that you can input rules into or is there only enable or disable QoS?

No you can not downgrade FW. Rev As and Bs are different.

Please review this and see if this might help:
Gaming and QoS for XBL (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=42011.0)

What region are you located?
Are you wired or wireless connected to the router?

What ISP Service do you have? Cable or DSL?
What ISP Modem do you have? Stand Alone or built in router?
What ISP Modem make and model do you have?

Ah I see.

Im in Ontario Canada,
one xbox is connected via Ethernet cord the other by wireless adapter

ISP is Telus - Cable
ISP Modem: Not sure, im in a condo so it is controlled elsewhere in the building. Standalone router

Thanks for the advice, I might just have to get a new router.

If your particular 601 router doesn't have additional QoS rules then I would recommended to get a router that does. One of the following routers have the advanced QoS rules: DIR-857, 835, 827, 825, 655, 645 and 628.

Then you can apply those game settings in that sticky and gaming should be good after that.

This 601 is a good router for basic use and for one xbox. Having multiples, you really need a router that can handle multiples and have the ability to effect and control gaming connections.
