Can't create new share folder
« on: November 21, 2012, 12:47:30 AM »

So maybe I'm doing something obviously wrong, but I can't seem to create any new shared folders!

I go to Management > Account Management > Network shares, then "New", and I get a wizard that shows only "Volume 1".

A wizard automatically opens and provides me with a folder list that includes only "Volume 1". (There is only 1 HDD in the unit at present).

Selecting "Volume 1" provides the message "This folder already set share" and none of the four folders in Volume 1 are listed or able to be selected. It makes no difference if the folders have been created by the DNS-320L or are copied in (so I don't think it's a permission issue).

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Try to generate subfolders with windows explorer, netshare cannot do this as the maindirectory is already shared.

So it was something (fairly) obvious - you have to click the name of the folder (text), not the checkbox, or the icon.

Easy, but not as intuitive as you'd expect these days.
