The Graveyard - Products No Longer Supported > DIR-615

Is it finally dead?

(1/1)

caraM:
I have a DIR-615 that I use as an access point (I guess) to extend my network to the far end of my house.  I have it connect to my main router (DIR-882) via wifi, and the SSID is the same (so "bridged," I think?) and I have loaded DD-WRT firmware on it.  I leave it largely untouched, and have for years, which is why I am not perfectly clear on my setup (I need to document, I know).  I lost contact with the 2 devices that I hardwire into the DIR-615, today, and realized that it may be dying.  Only the D-Link LED and the Power LED are on (logo = green, power = orange), and they occasionally go out.  I had the internet LED for a brief period, orange (should that ever turn green?).

If I hit the reset button, with the DD-WRT firmware loaded - will I wipe out all of that firmware and revert back to a D-Link firmware??  I'm thinking of resetting as a last ditch effort to not have to buy a new router/AP.

I used to be fairly good with network troubleshooting, but it's been a while - I can't even remember how to connect to this via hardwire, anymore...

Red90:
Yes.  It will go back to its original firmware and default setup if you reset.
