Can someone please provide the correct email notification settings for YAHOO? I can't get it to work; I tries OPTONLINE and was able to get it working, however I prefer to use YAHOO (or even GMAIL if you have those settings).
Thanks, Rich

For GMail, I have:
SMTP Server Address: smtp.gmail.com
SMTP Server Port: 587
Use SSL-TLS/STARTTLS: STARTTLS
-
Thanks for the GMAIL info...any assistance with YAHOO would be appreciated...I find Yahoo MUCH easier to use than GMAIL.

I just got mine going for yahoo email the settings are
SMTP Server Address: smtp.mail.yahoo.com
SMTP Server Port: 465
now you have to type your yahoo email account password in the line where it says password
Use SSL-TLS/STARTTLS: ( ) No (X) SSL-TLS ( )STARTTLS

Thanks daoatt, worked perfectly!!!!

Hi, I am really sorry. I am having a little trouble setting up my DCS 930L email. This is what i put in my screen. I am trying to use a yahoo email address. Please tell me what I'm doing wrong. Thanks
SMTP Server address: smtp.mail.yahoo.com
SMTP Server Port: 465
Sender E-mail adress: a email adress that I really don't use@gmail.com (I did put @gmail.com at the end)
Receiver email address: the email address that I want images sent to@yahoo.com (I put @yahoo.com at the end too)
User Name: Domain_name (this is the same name as receiver email without putting @yahoo.com at the end
Password: the email addresses password
I then clicked the box SSL-TLS
I thought I was doing this right, but I'm sure there's something wrong here.

hijeff1: I believe the SMTP Server address should be gmail not yahoo (the sender's email server). Use the gmail settings posted above with your gmail email as sender and yahoo email as the receiver.

I am incredibly frustrated. I have tried almost every combo noted in the forums to no success. I want to use yahoo to receive notification e-mails. I usually get a host of errors but what is really bad is sometimes I get "Test Succeeded" but I get no e-mail in my yahoo account.
Thinking getting a new brand of cam...sheesh...any ideas?
Here is my set up:
SMTP Server Address: smtp.mail.yahoo.com
SMTP Server Port: 465
Sender E-mail Address: Myhandle@yahoo.com
Receiver E-mail Address: Myhandle@yahoo.com
User name: Myhandle
Password: XXXXXXXXXXXX
Please help...thanks in advance

What camera model do you own and what firmware version is installed?
-
It's the DSC-932L. Firmware is 1.06b4. The cam is located in a remote vacation house so updating to version 1.09_b1 is a real effort. It that a limiting factor?
And thank you for your time.
-
Possibly. If you look at the the DCS-932L - Cumulative Firmware Release Notes (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=42617.0) you'll see there was at least one bug fix related to email notifications. You may able to remotely update the firmware via mydlink.

I needed help as well I was just told to use smtp.mail.yahoo.com and port 465 for yahoo.
-
And does it work with this configuration?

Thank you for sharing. Hope this will come in handy for future users. ;)

Will add the ftp page image as soon as I tackle that one...
-
Awesome. Look forward to that as well. Thank you for your participation. The more information, the better. ;)

As rwodyplace #13 says, a picture is worth a thousand words. Well I put in the exact same configuration for my gmail account and this is my picture in the Status window:
Camera Name DCS-930L
Time & Date
02 Jul 2015 7:50:27 P.M.
Firmware Version 1.12.03 (2015-02-03)
Agent Version 2.0.18-b61
MAC Address F0 7D 68 08 B9 E0
IP Address 10.0.0.7
Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway 10.0.0.138
Primary DNS 10.0.0.138
Secondary DNS 0.0.0.0
DDNS Disable
UPnP Port Forwarding Disable
FTP Server Test No test conducted.
E-mail Test Invalid username/password.
As others have said this is so frustrating. Can anyone give me any other ideas? Can I send from a Yahoo address to a gmail address, for example?
-
You may have to refresh my memory... What are you trying to do?
The first thing I see that concerns me (not necessarily wrong) are the DNS settings and the default gateway.
I set my DNS to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 and all works well. The gateway setting should be visible by running ipconfig from a dos box (command line). Mine is 10.0.1.1 since that is the ip address of my router. On another setup, I have to use 192.168.1.254... and another is 192.168.0.1 - again, the router's address.
-
Set up my camera so that it sends email pictures when the motion sensor is activated.
-
Look at my "picture" in post #13 if this thread and send me a list of your data settings.
-
I gave up with gMail! I am sending now from a Yahoo address I set up for this to my gmail address and everything works. These are the data settings:
SMTP Server Address smtp.mail.yahoo.com
SMTP Server Port 465 (Default is 25)
Sender E-mail Address xxxx@yahoo.com
Receiver E-mail Address zzzz@gmail.com
User Name xxxx [Yahoo name]
Password vvvvvv [Yahoo password]
Use SSL-TLS/STARTTLS No [X] SSL-TLS STARTTLS

Try port 465 or 587...
-
rowdyplace - thanks for your help. Everything is working fine now sending images from a Yahoo account to gMail. Don't know why gMail wouldn't work configured the same was as your screenshot but it wasn't worth wasting any more time on.
