DWA-652 Locks up Vista Ultimate

I'm running Vista Ultimate on a Dell Inspiron 1720.  I've disabled the internal wireless card.  Then I installed only the drivers for the DWA-652 from the D-link website (V1.50) but it locks up.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
