SSL VPN Portal to use Active Directory for login credentials
« on: December 07, 2012, 11:14:42 AM »

Sorry if this is covered elsewhere ...

I am trying to get a SSL VPN portal configured to use AD for login credentials.  ???

I get a message on the Portal page saying "No users configured for this portal" even though the Group policy is set to "Active Directory" with 2 authentication servers (DCs) and the active directory domain is defined (tried both FQDN and NetBIOS forms). I tried ignoring the message and logging in anyways, I get a generic failed login message and then the "No users configured ..." message.

So for giggles and grins I added a local database user linked to the "Group" for the portal. The "No users ..." message disappears but it fails to login whether the local user credentials match the AD credentials or not. I am assuming the user in the local database removes the first error message but it isn't checking with the AD at all or that check is failing. Shouldn't there be a field asking for some AD credentials to perform the check with? What if security restrictions prevent unauthenticated queries?

Thanks,
Al

What region are you located?

I would phone contact DLink support for this. Level 2 or higher.

Let us know what they say.

Canada is home for me, I will call them when I get back next week. Currently travelling and was trying to get it working remotely through a forwarded RDP port.

Thanks for the prompt reply!!
