Camera responding to Router management IP
« on: May 19, 2013, 09:28:45 AM »

Hello All,

When attempting to log onto my router webUI I noticed that my Dlink DCS-932L responds to the request. So now I can only log into the 932L and not my router. I now need to turn off my 932L and then I can log into my router. So this is a bit annoying as you can see. I even changed the gateway address on the router to a different IP and the 932L will respond on the new address. I also set the ARP table with no luck.

I am looking for a workaround so I can access my router WEBUI and not have the 932L respond. Thanks in advance.

Are you saying that when you open the Web UI to view the router settings, that the DCS-932L web UI opens instead?  If this is the case, did the DCS-932L always behave this way or is this something new?

Sorry been AFK.

Are you saying that when you open the Web UI to view the router settings, that the DCS-932L web UI opens instead? - Yes.

If this is the case, did the DCS-932L always behave this way or is this something new? - Day one when I plugged it into my network.

it sounds like maybe your router is 192.168.0.20, that is the camera's native ip address?
can you (with camera disconnected) set the router for a different base address?

I'm with acellier... what is your camera's local IP and what is your router's local IP?

Have you tried a different browser?

http://www.manualowl.com/m/Cisco/EA3500/Manual/274650

page 20 says you should be using 192.1.168.1 or myrouter.local for your router ...

Camera is 192.168.1.119

Router is 192.168.1.1

I even changed the router IP to 192.168.1.2. When I do that the camera will respond to both 192.168.1.119 and 192.168.1.2. Also the ARP table is correct.

I can reproduce the issue with different browsers, different PCs and different OSs.

And Cisco/Linksys says what ???
Seems to me the router is responsible to communicate properly with associated devices ...

Interesting enough I disabled UPnP on the router. The issue is now resolved.
