I am facing a strange problem with my DIR 601 router. I am not able to access internet when I plug in the cable from my model to slot marked Ínternet' on the back of the model (which I guess is the right way). However, I can access the internet if I plug in the cable coming from modem into any of the 4 ports marked as 'LAN'. Any ideas why this behavior? Thanks.

What ISP service do you have? Cable or DSL?
What ISP Modem do you have? Stand alone or DSL?
Preferred setup for the router is:
ISP Modem from WAN port in back to WAN/Internet port in back of 601 router. Then connect all devices to the LAN Ports in back of 601 router if wired.
