Some laptops will not connect to router. Will connect after a reboot of router.

I have a 890L that is updated to the latest firmware. The smart connect is disabled.

At least 3 different laptops will not connect to the router unless you reboot the router. Trying to reboot devices has no affect. They can see the router but will not connect.  Usually it is when the pc is not used for a little bit gets turned on then wont connect back to the router. Daily this happens.

I have a desktop connected wireless that does not seem to have the problem.

Router Placement
Forum User - "Well I feel really dumb. After moving the router away from other electronic devices my speeds are back to normal. Just a heads up for anyone experiencing slow speeds, you might want to move it away from other electronics and see if that helps."
3-6' feet minimum safe distance between devices.
Placement on main level floor and central in the building and WELL ventilated is preferred. Not in basements or closets as building materials, or near by electronics devices could interfere or hinder good signal propagation.

Firmware version 1.11
USA Region
Factory reset was performed after purchase.
Since new firmware update no reset was done.

Firmware update was recently done. Issue was was taking place before new firmware update and is still happening,  no change.

ISP is a local company. Wireless type connection.
Modem is built into the antenna.

2.4Ghz and 5.0GHz have different SSID names. They were the same. I changed them. No change in issue.

No cordless phones near the router

Smart connect is disabled. Smart connect enabled seemed to make the issue worse.

2.4GHz channel is set to Auto.
5.0GHz channel is set to Auto.

"Note: Only the 2.4Ghz devices seem to be affected.  I have 2 desktops with wireless 5.0Ghz connections and they do not seem to drop at all"
2 laptops running 2.4Ghz cannot connect unless you reboot the router almost daily. 1 laptop running 2.4GHz has had it happend a couple times though this laptop is not used nearly as much as the other two laptops."

"Note: Router has been set to reboot at 5AM every morning. This does not seem to help."

No other wireless devices (routers etc.) nearby.

I have looked at the two laptops with the issue and the wireless cards drivers appear up to date.

Please advise and Please help. Getting tired of the inlaws rebooting the router when they cannot connect causing my internet to drop with out warning. :(

Thank you

FurryNutz:
I recommend doing a factory reset and set up from scratch and enable Smart Connect.

What is the Mfr and model if these wireless cards inside the laptops?

Also you can try this new FW out as well:
