Win7 Print Server Memory Leak
« on: July 09, 2010, 10:16:43 AM »

Does anyone here run Windows 7 and have a printer connected to the DNS-323 using the LPD drivers?

I have a Brother HL-5140, and when I connect it using the DNS-323, the spooler has a memory leak, after a few days, it was consuming 1.3gigabytes.  I see it counting up 4k a whack a couple times a minute.  I use Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.

I removed the printer from the NAS and connected it directly to my machine using a USB connection.  I loaded the same drivers (native to Win7), and no memory leak.

It appears the LPD support in Win7 is the issue, but I guess it could be the HL-5140 driver supplied for Win7 as well.  That's why I'd like to know of someone has a different printer and doesn't have an issue.
