D-Link DAP-1155 Not connecting
« on: July 23, 2012, 06:46:51 AM »

Hi,

I recently bought the dlink DAP-1155 wireless N 150 Bridge/Access Point.
I am using my computer (Which is connected to the internet) as the router (Due to Mac address issues) and i want to connect the dlink to my computer (through my PCI LAN adapter also dlink).
When i first connected it i was able to log on to its interface (http://dlinkap) and was able to change setting. I then turned off WPS because i did not think it was necessary for me, then a short while later it was no longer accessible through my browser.
I have installed drivers for my PCI LAN card and i have tried turning my Dlink off and on again.
My phone can see the dlink with wireless.
I really dont know what happened and help would be very appreciated :)

Link>Welcome!
What Hardware version is your router? Look at sticker under router.
Link>What Firmware version is currently loaded? Found on routers web page under status.
What region are you located?

What ISP Service do you have? Cable or DSL?
What ISP Modem do you have? Stand Alone or built in router?
What ISP Modem make and model do you have?

I would try the following connection platform first to help eliminate any connections issues between the modem and DAP as this is the preferred method for connecting routers and modems and other devices:
ISP Modem>DAP><all wired and wireless devices to the DAP.

It is hardware version A1
Firmware version 1.00 (the number on the bottom of the router, i can't access the web page to see what it is currently running, but I just bought it so it should still be running on its stock firmware)
I am in South Africa, Eastern Cape, Grahamstown
My ISP is my University, so Cable
My internet runs through a central router that provides for my section of flats, then straight to my computer.
I then have a second LAN port that i connected the dlink into, so that i have wireless as well that shares my computers internet access. I don't know any information about the router, I have never seen it and don't have access to it.
