Monitoring the Ethernet ports
« on: November 05, 2011, 06:41:57 PM »

Is there any way to see which of the 4 1GB ports are active and at what speed they are set to? Not having a status light on the router is making it hard to know if the port is active or not. (My computers are in a different room)

If the router doesn't any any indication then there isn't any way to see whats active. The best way would be to connect an external switch to the router then connected all of your wired devices to it. I have a 24pt Gb switch running off my router. Helps separate the router management from devices that don't need any router management. It's a preferred configuration too. There are other Dlink model routers that have connection indication and some that don't. Let us know.
