Title: dcs1110 connect to dsm-520, How??
Post by: tjd on July 15, 2008, 08:46:30 AM
dlink's webpage, http://www.dlink.com/products/?pid=499 states "You can even configure your MediaLounge Wireless Media Player to connect to the DCS-1110 and play real-time video feed on your TV screen!"; but neither the dcs-1110 manual nor the DSM-520 manual covers how to configure to do this. I have tried asking support but they are unable to help. Has anyone managed to do this? and if so how do you configure it ? Is there any documentation?

If the camera and the DSM-510, 520, 320 or 320RD are on the same network then DCS-1110 will be seen as an available media server  in the list of server for the DSM-510, 520, 320 or 320RD. Just connect to it as you would to your media server and it will display the camera video stream.

well the dcs-1110 server appears with a folder dcs1110.@@@ which I select and get a blank screen. Support can't help, is there any configuration documentation? :'(

That is correct setup. I tried this as well and am getting the same issue. We are currently looking into this issue.

New firmware for the DSM-520 will correct this issue. I am very sorry but I do not have a date at this time.

any update on the bug fix, i notice that the dcs1110 product page still informs potential buyers that the camera works with the dsm520, but we know differently  ;)

So if the next release is still some time away, how about a patch?? or would going back to a previous firmware work?

This function was working in previous firmware. It was somehow over looked when testing new firmware however rolling back the firmware on the DSM-520 is not a supported option on this device.

So what are my alternatives? and those like me who buy this d-link device based on the information currently advertised on the d-link product website?  Its been(I think) over 6 months since the last firmware update and my patience is starting to wane.

I have been bugging them about this firmware trust me. I'm not sure what options you have you can contact customer service and they may be able to push priority on this issue. We really dont get may inquiries about this feature so it may not me priority and they usually will not come out with firmware to address a single issue only.

just wanted to let you know I sent several emails to customer service, didn't receive a single reply, even pointed out the dcs1110 webpage still proclaims this as a feature for the dcs1110/dsm520. Im concluding both of these products are obsolete as far as d-link is concerned and will receive no further updates or fixes, does this make sense?
