Title: Port Mirroring Problems using DGS-1224T
Post by: toml on June 04, 2010, 12:57:03 PM
I have a D2 version of the DGS-1224T.  It shipped with 4.21.02.

I bought this switch mainly for the port-mirroring feature.  Port mirroring worked for about a week, then stopped working.  Each time I hit the "Apply" key on the Power Saving screen - it will mirror packets for exactly 21 seconds and then stop.  Doesn't matter if I have Power Saving enabled or disabled.  Should I return this box?  Sounds like it might have a hardware problem.  Tried downgrading the firmware - for the same platform - and got "invalid software" messages.  Called tech support.  They're trying to reproduce my problem.  I think I have bad hardware.

Hi Toml,

About your question is Mirror function does not work when you apply device power saving function, right?
Or does not need to config other function settings and just enable Mirror function, and then the DGS-1224T will no reply after a while?

As I know the "Power Saving" Function need to change device hardware interface settings that will cause the device interface re-negotation again after change power saving settings. Of course, the device all interfaces will be disconnect a while when you change power saving settings.

Thanks a lot.
