Camera failed to register for MyDlink Account
« on: June 04, 2015, 03:04:36 AM »

Hi everybody,

I bought Baby Camera DCS-825L but can't make it work.
I downloaded the app for android and follow the steps. All went well until last step - put existing account or create new one. Because I don't have one I choose to create a new one. It asked me for mail, password, confirm password, name and surname. I type everything and press next. After about 15-25 secs. it gave me error that myBabyCamera failed to register for MyDlink Account.

At the moment the only way I can use the camera is to connect directly to camera WiFi, but I need it to be accessible through the cloud from everywhere. I wrote to support before few days, but still doesn't have any answer.

I am a bit disappointed because that's definitely not a cheap product and it's doesn't work as it has to because of some account issue.

What region are you located?

I recommend that you verify that the mydlink.com user account works by signing into the web site using a browser and make sure you can access the account fully. Then do a factory reset of the camera and run thru the set up process again and see if you can register the camera.

Ensure Java is up to date.

I recommend using IE or FF.
Disable any PC security SW temporarily while you do this.

What Mfr and Model router do you have?

Hi FurryNutz and thanks for the answer.

My Region is Bulgaria.

I can't sing in to my account because I don't have one, and I can't get one. The only way I can register is through the app - there is no register or sign up page on mydlink.com.

Java is up to date on PC

I am using Netgear Bundle WPN824 RangeMax Wireless Router - it's about 7 years old.

The problem is getting the account, not setting up the camera.

I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.
Let us know how it goes please.

Hi,

I called them, they don't have any idea what could be the problem. What I want is just an mydlink account with which I can login instead of creating new one and add the camera. Is there any way that I can receive email with confirmation link for my email and use this account. The problem is creating the account, not the camera. But still if I don't find solution in the next few days I will have to return the camera at the store.

This is link to mydlink login (home) page. I need to register a new account, not login.

Register for a new account using that link. Then log in to the same site there using a web browser to make sure you can get in. Then go back and use the account information to associate the camera using the set up wizard...

Hi,
If you mean that link - https://eu.mydlink.com/entrance - it sends me to the home where I am clicking "Not Registered" and that sends me to page from where I have to download a setup wizzard. But as I mentioned before there is no PC setup wizzard for this camera, and there is no register page. Thats why I can't create account.

Ya, there should be a link to a page to register for the MDL site itself, not the product.
I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email. Tell them that there doesn't seem to be a place to sign up for a MDL account.

Let us know how it goes please.

have to download a setup wizzard. But as I mentioned before there is no PC setup wizzard for this camera, and there is no register page.
with this you can search on your home network the camera
in NA ftp://ftp2.dlink.com/SOFTWARE/CAMERA_SETUP_WIZARD/SetupWizard_SE_v1.05.exe
or EU ftp://ftp.dlink.eu/Products/dcs/@general/DCS_Setup-Wizard-SE.zip

I have done it first via android - wlan direct access to the camera, then set your password and then click on using my-cloud
then you can access it via internet.

if its not working at all then delete your account and start from beginning,
its not so difficult an you find all to read hereftp://ftp2.dlink.com/PRODUCTS/DCS-825L/REVA/DCS-825L_REVA_MANUAL_1.00_EN.PDF
or all here NA ftp://ftp2.dlink.com/PRODUCTS/DCS-825L/REVA/
or all here EU ftp://ftp.dlink.eu/Products/dcs/dcs-825l/

When walking thru the set up wizard, when you get to the screen that asks you "Do you have a MDL Account"
Select the NO, I want to sign up for a new account." Then select Next.

I presume it should ask you for email addresses and PWs here to get a email account going with MDL.

Register for a new account using that link. Then log in to the same site there using a web browser to make sure you can get in. Then go back and use the account information to associate the camera using the set up wizard...
