Title: Want an indoor camera, but with option to connect (and) through wire!
Post by: Balema on November 01, 2016, 07:33:05 AM
Is there any indoor camera that has ethernet option for connection (I don't mind if it has and wireless) or powerline but also to have motion and sound detection and 2-way mic so I can speak except form hear? I have searched for hours but I didn't find anything, did I miss anything? For example DCS-2230L that it is not cheap but it meets all my criteria except from sound detection that it is very important for me, when sound is detected to have a notification at my cell phone.

Something else, one camera if it has ethernet port and I buy the powerline adapter kit it will be compatible? I mean after that I will be able to connect through the electricity circuit?

Thank you in advance! :)

Most D-Link cameras have ethernet ports accept for a few of the newer model cameras. Review the specs of the cameras that your interested in on D-Links home page and look for the following: http://us.dlink.com/products/business-ip-cameras/2-mp-full-hd-cube-wireless-ip-camera/ (http://us.dlink.com/products/business-ip-cameras/2-mp-full-hd-cube-wireless-ip-camera/)
External Device Interface

    microSD card slot
10/100 BASE-TX Ethernet port This is the information you need.

I picked up some 2210ls cheap on ebay.  Same specs as 2230l,but 170 degrees fov. No sound detection, but has speaker.

Does the 2630l have sound detection?  I don't remember.

You might need to get 2 cams.

Thank you for your answer! So if it has ethernet (10/100 BASE-TX Ethernet port) it is compatible with the powerline adapter kit. The camera that you have linked unfortunately it has them all I need except sound detection...

Thank you for your answer! Yes I like a lot the 2210L but as you said it hasn't got sound detection!!! And the 2630L have sound detection but no wired connection! I am dissapointed, is not an option to take 2 cameras. I can't understand at the premium cameras like 2210L why they didn't contain sound detection, it is crucial so I can hear my baby!

The 2630l does have gremlins in the audio when turned up.  The 2210l is clear.

None of these are wired. Any reason you want wired?

Yes, it is for a baby and I don't want Wi-Fi near it.

The 2210L is wired supporting:

Unfortunately it hasn't got sound detection.

Well your decision to not use wireless is limiting the available options that D-Link has for your needs.  ???

How close is the camera going to be to the baby?

It is a decision we made not to have wi-fi at the room of the baby, and the camera will be inside the room of the baby... thank you all for your answers... but I assume there is not a camera yet that meets all the criteria I need from D-Link... I hope in the near future something will come up...
