Why is all D-link firmware beta?
« on: December 05, 2010, 08:00:22 AM »

Since I own my DIR-655 I notice that all new released versions of the firmware are beta. And they never got out of it. Why does D-link only create beta firmware for her customers?

This is the worst supported router I have ever owned.

All firmware that is released through the main website is final versions.  They have released betas of newer builds as we have asked for them in the past and let them know we are willing to try out the betas in the hopes for making for better releases of the final builds.  Generally they post the news of the available betas here in the forums and there can be several versions of the betas before it get finalized for general release.

Use the FTP site of your localized DLink support site and then browse through there.
