When v1.04 is ready for release, please make sure the gpl code is ready and released, too.
Looking at the software versions in the gpl code, is very helpful to understand the DNS-323
firmware's capabilities.

Christmas has come and gone and no sign of 1.4.  I have purchased my PS3 and upgraded it to the VERY NICE 2.10 firmware which does make it possible to play High-Definition DIVX/XVID files.  I currently make it work with Tversity which is cataloguing a network share (which does require to alter the service preferences to run as a user with Admin priviliges).  However, the objective is to stop getting those 2113 DLNA errors from my PS3 as it tries to discover the DNS-323, ASAP... anybody wants to leak me a copy of 1.4 beta?

I do have the time to test it during christmas.  Leak me a copy at francois@menards.ca!!!

Uh, since the D-link guys are on holiday, i'll tell you, you're not allowed to talk about acquiring releases that aren't officially released, on the 'official forum'.

There are several methods by fiddling with fun_plug to get the dns-323 to work as a media server. A simple google of fun_plug dns-323 will get you all you need to know.

I'm not sure if this voids the warranty since it doesn't permanently change anything..(you can still do a reset to default and it'll be gone). The only thing 1.04 will provide is native support. Now, that may seem really awesome to most, but to those who use linux frequently we already know that a LOT is possible with this device because it's based on linux.

Also, there is no 1.4 beta, next version is 1.04 :P

Also-also, if it was close before Christmas, then as long as nobody at D-link is working overtime to get it done before new  years, i'd expect it mid-january. :-/

Sure thing.  I would certainly not want to put out any sign of dissatisfaction with D-Link.  To the contrary.

Some person out there built Mediatomb for the DNS-323 and I now am serving photos, songs and and divx HD movies to my PS3 running 2.10.

I was able to make this work relatively painlessly and in a couple of hours at most.

I am not putting TVersity to the side, where it should remain.

The 323 is a fantastic device.  I would have not made a better choice.

Has anyone installed DNS-323_fw_RevA1_v104B63_20071127.zip firmware?  If so how do I download it?

Any update? Should we use current 1.04 beta or wait for the final version?
