Suggestion: Better scheduling for motion detection
« on: February 21, 2012, 04:45:15 AM »

I have just installed one of these cameras into my home office, but I have found the scheduling to be to restrictive.
What are the chances of providing a more advanced sceduling system which provides a greater array of times and days.

For example:
Monday - Friday
00:00am till 00.59am motion detection off
01:00am till 7.59am motion detection on
8.00am till 8.59am motion detection off
9.00am till 11.59am motion detection on
12.00pm till 12.59pm motion detection off
1.00pm till 17.29pm motion detection on
17.30pm till 23.59pm motion detection off

Saturday and Sunday
00:00am till 00.59am motion detection off
01:00am till 7.59am motion detection on
8.00am till 23.59am motion detection off

and then also having a holiday setting which sets motion detection on permanently.

Having a single blanket time just doesn't seem very conveniant for most people. I don't want to be bombarded with email notifications for the periods when I know I am in my office.

I am sure this is possible, but what are the chances of somthing like this being implemented?

Regards

Yes, having a better and more precisely scheduled timing system for the motion detection would suit me too.

I agree something like this should be part of the scheduling system.  I have been looking at some scripting via cron jobs that would make the required http calls to the camera that could basically implement a schedule like yours.  Should be fairly simple but I haven't had time to focus on this.

Maybe I could go crazy and even create a secondary web interface for the camera that would allow you to modify the schedules without having to manually modify cron jobs.  Hmmm....  Something for my 'spare' time.
