Title: Looking for support/help
Post by: Vatalis on November 01, 2018, 11:46:07 AM
I have a DNS-1250-04 and I'm hoping it didn't just turn into a brick.

When I boot with a monitor and keyboard the system isn't seen on the network I get the following

"getty: /dev/ttyUSB0: cannot open as standard input: No such device" this repeats about 6 times then I get
"INIT: Id "S0" respawning too fast: disable for 5 minutes" and then it repeats the first message.

I'm stumped on how to get this system back up and running. I can manage to stop the boot process where it brings me to the slax screen, but the only option I have here is 'safe'. I've tried doing a hard reset with paper clip in the back, but still comes back to this issue.

Is there a way to re-install the 'OS' or software/firmware via USB? Or does anyone else have any other ideas that could possibly help?

I'm from Canada, but it seems this product is from the US. It was purchased via Amazon.

What Mfr and model is the main host router?
What browser are you using to access the DNS web page? Can you get this far at all?
Does the DNS register a IP address on the host router?
Has a reset been performed yet?

The router is a TP-Link Archer c2600 (https://www.tp-link.com/us/products/details/cat-9_Archer-C2600.html (https://www.tp-link.com/us/products/details/cat-9_Archer-C2600.html))
I've tried Chrome, Firefox, and IE - all the pages time out.
I'll check the router and see if it can pull an IP. - Just checked - it's getting 192.168.0.32 (192.168.0.32 took too long to respond.)
I've used a paper clip to reset the NAS, but it always comes back to the same screen. I'm hoping to find a way to flash the device.

here's a pic I took when I hooked it up directly to a projector - https://1drv.ms/u/s!AqoqqbpRnfThv0ELW80OrrM2FKI3 (https://1drv.ms/u/s!AqoqqbpRnfThv0ELW80OrrM2FKI3)

I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this.

We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.
Let us know how it goes please
