DCS-2230 full screen problem
« on: May 30, 2012, 05:37:09 AM »

Dear All,

I am very happy with my DLink DCS-2230 cam. Only 1 problem: In Internet Explorer 9 Full Screen mode, I can not hide the IE Top Bar and Address Bar. Why are these two bars still visable.

When I visit another website and press F11 in IE9, than I Really see full screen with no bars. But when I visit live DCS-2230 cam site, and press "Full Screen" Button, the two bars are showing up again.

How can I hide these 2 bars?

Thank you in advance,

Danny

You could access the camera stream directly (camaraipaddress:port/video1.mjpg). I know that works in Chrome, but I haven't tried it in IE.

You can use [IPcamaddress:port]/videoN.mjpg    where N is the video profile.

Dear Geezer and Joe,

Thank you for your help.

When I open up the link in IE9, IE9 starts downloading the data as if it was a file. In stead of streaming it in the browser.

When I use firefox, it opens up in the browser screen, but it merely looks like a picture slideshow, not fluently, but seperate images and no sound.

Is that your experience too?

That is my experience with IE9 as well. I haven't tried Firefox, but Chrome gives me a regular, if somewhat choppy, video (no sound). I think you need ActiveX to get video, sound, and controls, and ActiveX is available only on IE. Even with IE, I no longer get sound, although I think it worked initially. I do get sound on the actual recorded videos, however.

I think you will just have to live with the two bars on the screen.

I confirm that IE is not able to stream using the .mpjg syntax (for your reference the .mpjg syntax is well described under "Network Setup" section of web management, also with RTSP syntax).
For full screen with IE, using the video stream 1 (with highest resolution), it's normal to have the scroll bars enabled and visible. Try to use the "zoom out" feature (for example 75% or 50% should help).

Regarding audio, I never hear audio with browsers using .mpjg syntax. If you want to listen audio, you have to use the RTSP syntax (I have no problem with VLC media player using RTSP syntax).

I confirm that with Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Opera and Mozilla SeaMonkey there are no problems on streaming using .mjpg syntax (anyway there is no audio with all these browsers).

Joe Public,

Not to change the subject, but would you take a look at the last post in this thread:

http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=48338.0

I was hoping you might have some further thoughts on that topic.

Thanks.
