They should appear in the list, There will be a least date and time expire. I believe for Devices that do not have a IP reservation. For ones that do have a reservation, "Never" I think should display instead of Date and Time.

I'd be interested in know if you experience any WiFi or heat issues with your unit. I made a mod to mine as a tinker to see what happens. I did this to my 827 as well regarding the metal heat sink mod. I know some people expressed concerns about this so I posted some info to help out with this.

Hope its working better for you. Keep us posted.

Enjoy.

I think it would be best if someone could review my settings with this teamviewer.  Can you do it or someone with your expertise?

We found a mis-configured DAP-1525 connected thats the culprit here.  ::)

Devices connected to the 857 are all now working...

Let us know if you can get the DAP re-configured.

I'll leave the AccessPoint turned off for two days to confirm that this is the issue. As far as I can tell, the access point is configured correctly. Are you aware of any resources online that might be able to help me configure this AccessPoint correctly?

I used the Dlink sync technology between router and access point to configure the access point; I assumed that would be enough.

Thanks a lot for helping me yesterday.

IF the AP is wired to the back of the 857, then just log into the 1525 and run thru the set up wizard or you could manually set it up..it has similar Wifi UI as the 857 and should be under Setup/Wireless/Manual. You can use the same SSID name and PWs just make sure the channel is different. You'll need to keep the AP wired to the back of the 857 for this mode.

Might be of some help:
Turning a router into an AP.

You're indicating to do this wizard, it would make more sense to have the router linked directly to the access point? Currently as you know, I'm using a switch.  I don't see the difference actually. Let me know, thanks in advance

Ya if you reset the 1525, and wired to either switch or router, you should be able to log into the 1525 at 192.168.0.50...The run thru the wizard...or manually set it up. If you can get to the AP and can't figure it out, let me now and I'll get on TV.

I think I'm going to go without the access point in my new home. It doesn't seem like I need it. For whatever reason, the router is giving me a much farther range than it did before we made the adjustments to the 5 GHz band.  Do you know why this would happen?

We changed from Mixed all modes to a single mode operation. In some cases this helps the single as the radio doesn't have to do multiple modes any more, just one so the signal is improved.

Also be aware that the 857 has better WiFi connections speed than the 1525, the 857 supports up to 450Mb connections on 5Ghz, were the 1525 only supports 300Mb.

Keep the 1525 on hand for now. You could it it as a bridge later on.

It turns out that I do need that access point. Are there any settings that I can post here that might determine if it's conflicting with my router?  I did the setup process over again from the beginning. I also lowered the transmission signal strength  of the access point.

Thanks a million for all the help

Should try the following:
IP address: 192.168.0.50
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway:192.168.0.1

Can be same SSID name and PW as 857, just make sure channel is different. Keep farthest way.

Use same WiFi modes as the 857.
