Title: How to uninstall BT
Post by: mirceani on June 20, 2008, 07:42:14 AM
I just upgraded to firmware 1.5
I clicked on BT, and looks like this was installed - I do see a folder labeled BT, with some subfolders.

How do I uninstall this BT - I really do not need it.

Thank you

BT cannot be unistalled from the DNS-323. If you would like to remove the BT share from the harddrive's please backup all data and format.

I found by gong back to firmware level 1.04 and then install foonz fun-plug, I can then telnet to DNS-323, changed the mode of BT directory to 777.  I could then proceed to delete the BT directories.  By returning to firmware 1.04, BT is disabled.  I see no benefit to upgrade to 1.05 if I am not using BT.  I also ran into the problem with the formatting stuck at 90+% with firmware 1.05.  The same drive formatted fine with firmware 1.04.

You can revert back to firmware 1.04. You should now be able to delete any folder then update to 1.05 again. This time do not run the BT install in the Easy search utility.
