Title: DCS-942 to ASUS RT-AC68R to ReadyNAS 102 for FTP
Post by: neekcotrack on November 14, 2015, 05:06:40 PM
I am trying to just locally to get my camera to record and store photos to the FTP on the ReadyNAS 102.

Camera - 192.168.29.143 Static
Router - 192.168.29.1/24
ReadyNAS FTP - 192.168.29.244/21

I have port 21 forwarded on the router to 192.168.29.244.

I can not figure out what else to tweak to get this to work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Port Forward is not needed if your trying to use FTP on the LAN side if your camera is also on the LAN side. I presume just point to the IP address of the NAS with the camera should work. Along with any user account log in information.

What is the IP of the FTP server? Do you have multiple servers inside the NAS? Forgive my ignorance of the ReadyNAS 102.

Also, isn't 192.168.29.1/24 192.168.29.1 through 192.168.29.254? If so doesn't that overlap 192.168.29.244? That might be causing your problem. On the other hand, if the FTP is within the NAT of the router, port forwarding shouldn't be needed. The ARP is sent from camera to router, and if that IP is in tables, then shouldn't it route to FTP?
