DIR-628 keeps asking for password
« on: December 06, 2013, 03:32:53 PM »

I've searched in this forum and have found nothing similar to this.  My router has worked fine for years.  Over Thanksgiving my son who thinks he's an expert with this stuff must have changed some of my router settings or something's wrong with it...

Every time I sign into it, fill in the password, I see the Device Info Status page, then when I click to go somewhere else, it asks for the password again, then back to step 1.  Cannot get it past that step.

And it seems to keep going back to the Login page too soon as well.

Link>Welcome!

Web Browser Configurations
What browser are you using?
Try Opera or FF? If IE 8, 9, 10 or 11, set compatibility mode and test again.
Disable any security browser Add-ons like No Script and Ad-Block or configure them to allow All Pages when connected to the router.
Clear all browser caches.
Try turning off these features in Chrome:
Top right corner, little bars for options > Settings > Settings (on left) > Show advanced settings.
Uncheck these:
Use a web service to help resolve navigation errors
Use a prediction service to help complete searches and URLs typed in the address bar
Predict network actions to improve page load performance
Enable phishing and malware protection

Glad you got it working. Enjoy.
