Title: All videos are 0KB
Post by: sheriffa on March 30, 2014, 06:54:42 PM
I looked for a customer support contact but I don't believe there is one so I am posting here.

I bought two dlink Cameras.  The first is the DCS 2330L which transfers video that are 0KBs.  They are empty.  I am not sure why this is happening.  After the first 0kb file is FTP'd it just sends *.log files repeatedly.  I'm not sure why this is happening.  Note I am connected through a Verizon hotspot and this camera does not have an SD card in it.  I know this cameras is working because I can see the video from mydlink.com and my android phone.  The setup is just wrong, any suggestions?

How are the DCS-2330L and FTP storage connected to your network?

I finally called them yesterday.  They told me to reflash the firmware on top of itself since I am already running the latest version.  The camera is in a remote location 30 miles from me.  I was told reflashing the firmware will reset the device to factory defaults which will then render the camera out of communication because the SSID has to be setup on the device again.

Correct. That procedure resets the camera back to the factory default settings, removing all user settings, including network configuration, user name, password, etc.

There are a number of things I would have tried and looked at prior to performing the factory reset procedure, but it looks like it's too late to cross that bridge.

Please post back when you have physical access to the camera.

In the interim, I'm moving this post to the DCS-2330L board. . . unless this is regarding multiple cameras -- you mention that "The first is the DCS 2330L".  Is there another camera? Is this camera experiencing the same issue?
