Mixed drives with two volume on raid 1 and no raid
« on: June 20, 2015, 10:47:21 AM »

Hello everyone,

I have actually one drive of 2TO, used by two year, and i would like to insert a second drive of 300GB.
And i would to know if it's possible to have 1 partition on raid 1 of 300GB and a second partition of 1700 GB with no raid.
I just want to save my docs and pict on the 300G volume, the rest (film, music, etc.) will be saved on the 1700GB volume.

Did you think its possible ?

And it is necessary to format if it's possible ?

(Sorry for my bad english i'm Français)   ;D

I think you can only format the drives for one raid configuration. If you want better flexibility, then using standard formatting on each drive so each drive operates like standard windows drives, would be recommended to use. I have 4 drives in my DNS and all different sized using the DNS default HDD Formatting.
