Redoing Network DGS 1510 and sophos UTM 9
« on: March 04, 2019, 01:25:21 PM »

Hi I recently got to play again with my network and decided to use sophos UTM as Router-Firewall and so on.

I have a Dlink DGS 1510 and a home network fairly populated.

A Freenas box connected via SFP+ which i use for data server and media box, a couple of access points, 2 work stations (1 of them connected via sfp+) , a video surveillance server, some ip cameras and some other devices, smart tvs, smartphones, printers and the like.

I wanted to split the network and start using vlans lets say
VLAN 10 (Work stations, smart tvs, smartphones ...)
VLAN 20 video surveillance
VLAN 30 wifi
VLAN 99 manadgment

Then i would like to use sophos as gateway and firewall, but i would also have to use my ISP router to get Internet access.
Now what's the best way of doing so?
Should I create the Vlans then assign every port to a vlan then maybe create dhcp to every vlan??
I would also like to access the router switch and the sophos router only via Vlan 99, how do I do that?
Also in order to get internet access to all the Vlans do i have to trunk the port that connects to the Sophos gateway?
Thanks a lot for your help. Andrea from Italy
