Title: Persistent wrong password
Post by: CalJake47 on November 04, 2016, 11:40:51 PM
Wow this is frustrating.  Updated from firmware 1.05 to 1.07ww.  I do a factory reset, and it takes me through the set-up wizard.  I change the password.  I modify all my setting as desired, all seems fine.  However, once I exit, I cannot log back in with the password I've just created:  "Invalid password, please try again."  Factory reset, go through the entire process again, same result.  I've done this several times.  This is not a very fun way to spend a Friday night.  This is with Firefox 49.02 with all extensions and add-ons disabled.  Any suggestions?

OK, after seeing a post by square_eyes with a password problem with this firmware version, I step-by-step built a password.  I started with a simple, 8-alpha characters only password and could log-in.  I then added numbers and additional characters two at a time, logging out and in each change to ensure I could still log in.  I've now built up a suitably strong password.  Hope this helps someone else if they encounter the problem.

FWIW, I also contacted D-link support and got a reply within 12 hours; it eventually went to a 'please call this number,' which I didn't follow through on.

So, Did you find some characters that did not work?

Welcome! (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=48135.0)

What is the length of your router PW and what special characters are you using?

You can also upgrade to v1.08WW as well.
