Title: 5GHz totally shuts off
Post by: jarome on June 06, 2015, 04:58:27 AM
Twice now, my 5GHz bands totally shut off, and the only way to get them back is to reboot the router. I can tell using the spectrum plots on my Tablet. There are 0 channels on 5GHz when this happens.

Is my 890L defective? Has anyone else seen this.

Please post a picture of the InSSIDer results here...

I have not seen this issue on my 890L...

Router Placement
Forum User - "Well I feel really dumb. After moving the router away from other electronic devices my speeds are back to normal. Just a heads up for anyone experiencing slow speeds, you might want to move it away from other electronics and see if that helps."
3-6' feet minimum safe distance between devices.
Placement on main level floor and central in the building and WELL ventilated is preferred. Not in basements or closets as building materials, or near by electronics devices could interfere or hinder good signal propagation.

It is not an interference issue. WiFi radar on my tablet shows NO signal at all on 5 GHz.
D-Link says (after an argument) that they will replace it. They keep wanting me to reinstall the firmware, which I had done the last time I talked to them.

Possibly just a faulty unit. A new one should fix this. Let us now how it goes...
