Any idea on how to increase this timeout? It takes about a minute in any of the admin pages for the Admin login to be terminated. It's just an annoyance but a frequent one...

• What Hardware version is your router? Look at sticker under router.
• Link>What Firmware version is currently loaded? Found on the routers web page under status.
• What region are you located?

It should last about 3 mins I think...There isn't away to adjust that. IT's a security standard for D-Link routers.

3rd Party Security Software Configurations

• Turn off all anti virus and firewall programs on PC while testing. 3rd party firewalls are not generally needed when using routers as they are effective on blocking malicious inbound traffic.

Web Browser Configurations
What browser are you using?
Try Opera or FF? If IE 8, 9 or 10, set compatibility mode and test again.
Disable any security browser Add-ons like No Script and Ad-Block or configure them to allow All Pages when connected to the router.
Try turning off these features in Chrome:
Top right corner, little bars for options > Settings > Settings (on left) > Show advanced settings.
Uncheck these:
Use a web service to help resolve navigation errors
Use a prediction service to help complete searches and URLs typed in the address bar
Predict network actions to improve page load performance
Enable phishing and malware protection

Maybe it's always 3 minutes but I'm not paying all that much attention to the elapsed time. I timed it twice, once in Chrome and another in Firefox and you seem to be right on the 3 minutes setting.

The thing that really makes this annoying is that in-page activity (editing settings in a single page without submitting anything) does not reset the inactivity counter. Only when I click on a link or button it does. So it frequently happens that I'm just finishing editing some configuration, the password expires and I lose all of my changes.

I recommend making small changes and saving them then selecting the Reboot Later option. Once you select this the changes will be saved to the router. You'll need to work smart when making changes...

I don't see a "reboot later" option anywhere. Is that a configuration I have to dig?

All of my router web pages have only two buttons: "Save Settings" and "Don't same settings". And once I press save, depending on the page I'm at, it only saves or saves and reboot.

For instance, the QoS Engine page ALWAYS reboots! So there's no way to make a small change and save, 'cause then I will invariable interrupt Internet access throughout my home and have to wait a few minutes for it to fully boot up again.

This model router may not have that option. I've notice that some of the newer routers don't have the Reboot Laster feature.
