Windows 7 crash while copying file

hi everyone
I bought some days ago a DNS320L
configured it well with an account, all the permission and mounted it also as an external hdd from a linux based pvr.
But I've got a big issue with windows 7 64 bit (and also with 7 starter with a netbook), when I try to copy a file from desktop (or anywhere on the pc) to the Drive, windows crash and I've got to reboot everytime, works fine if I transfer files through FTP (but it's slow).
I've tried to connect directly, as an experiment, the NAS to the pc and works fine. Works also on LAN with Windows xp.
So I think it's a windows 7 issue with LAN.
Any advice?
