Cannot add printer to the DIR-320
« on: February 16, 2012, 10:14:40 AM »

Hi all,

Sorry if I posted in the wrong topic but didn't where to add my message.
So my problem is  I cannot add a Canon LBP-2900 printer to my DIR-320 router, did all the steps below, the printer is added but it doesn't print, tried with "RAW 9100" settings but the sam thing is doesn't work, what I'm doing wrong ?
Code: [Select]
Step 1 Go to Start > Settings > Printers > Add New Printer
(WinXP - Start > Printers and Faxes > Add a Printer).

Step 2 Select Local Printer.

Step 3 Create a New Port and select Standard TCP/IP port.

Step 4 The printer name/IP address is the IP of the router (192.168.0.1). Leave the port name with the default name.

Step 5 You will get a message saying that additional port information required.

Step 6 Select Custom (WinXP - Select Custom > Settings).

Step 7 Set Protocol to LPR.

Step 8 Use "lpUSB0" for USB port.

Check the box to Enable LPR Byte Counting.

Step 9 Select OK > Finish

Thank you.

The printer is attached to the USB port but is not detected...it is only detected by the PC when I'm adding a TCP/IP port..

Try different USB cable.
What region are you located?

Also try to power off router then back on and try to reconnect. Make sure printer is ON too.

The USB cable is fine, the printer is working when added to the PC and when added to the router the "light" is on too.
Eastern Europe.
Did it already, rebooted the printer while the printer was on.
