Will these be coming anytime soon?
I know they're not necessary to use the drive in Windows 7, but it would be nice if device manager stopped complaining about the unknown device.
-
I used the Vista driver just fine with Windows 7.

I'm running windows 7 RC1 64bit. I can get the storage device to show up but that only allows access to the devices webpage. I can't get it to recognize the nas as a computer. I used the vista driver but still no dice. I also made sure they were on the same workgroup. Any tips?

There will be 2 icons for the DNS-323. One will be a picture of it and the other will be a computer icon. The driver is only needed for the picture. The computer icon is where your shares will be.

I too just installed Windows 7 RC1 64-bit, have gone through the same steps as you and I am getting the same behavior as you: I can see the NAS, but can't see the shares or map a drive to one of them. Windows says "network path could not be found" or something to that extent.
I am guessing D-Link will need to release Windows 7 drivers or at least for the 64-bit edition (maybe the Vista 32-bit drivers work fine).

nope. never got it figured out. I ended up just mapping a network drive.

There is a working x64 driver for the DNS-323:
ftp://lizzi555.dyndns.org/Download/WLAN/DLINK/DNS/DNS-323/Tool/DNS-323_PnP-X_Driver_v1.02_11062008.zip
(http://lizzi555.dyndns.org/PICS_ETC/DNS323_amd64.PNG)
If you open the device manager it will show the DNS as unknown device or with a ? ...
Rightclick it and install the driver. Afterwards it will show up as disk drive:

Before installing driver it showed up as Storage and I could connect the shares only via IP-address:

I've seen this too. You have to use "\\<DNS-323 IP Address>" to access the NAS shares. This problem apprears to be fixed in FW 1.08.

I don't have that problem in 1.08 on Win7 x64. I'm not being prompted for the PNP-X driver, nor have a yellow ! in devmgmt.msc. Just have a generic icon for the NAS, the properties page looks identical to the one above. And I'm mapped via \\bigbox\Volume_1 to Z: without having to use the IP.

Yeah, I didn't see the problem in FW 1.0.8 either. Looks to be fixed.
