DLINK 500AV remains in sleep mode
« on: August 01, 2012, 01:21:20 AM »

Hi.
I am trying to extend my wired network by using 3 DLINK 500AV.
One is connected to straight to the main router, used as the internet gateway.
The second one is connected to a bridge, spreading the data to a PC, NAS, and network printer. The fourth device on this bridge is a router that should just extend my WIFI.

The 3rd DLINK 500AV is used to bring another PC into the network.

Overall the whole system works if all 500AVs get unplugged and replugged.
So currently it looks as if the 2nd 500AV goes into sleep mode, since the NAS and network printer are not constantly try to send/receive. Same seems to be true for the 2nd router behind the bridge.

Are there any kind of settings that would allow to alter the sleep mode behavior? Any opther kind of suggestions?  ???

Thanks in advance.

I would check the user manual for these and see if there are any user setting available.

What make and model host router are you using?

Some things to try:
Setup DHCP reserved IP addresses for all devices ON the router.
Ensure devices are set to auto obtain an IP address.
