L2TP VPN
« on: September 09, 2013, 07:45:11 PM »

Hello,

I've been trying to setup a simple L2TP VPN between a remote Windows 7 workstation and a small office using the DSR 250.  Unfortunately, although it appears to be simple to setup, I have no been able to get it to work.  I have a couple of questions:

1) is there a step by step guide in how to set this up?  The user manual is not particularly helpful
2) When I use the Windows VPN client, it tells me that it is using L2TP/IPSEC - do I have to configure IPSEC as well?  I tried using IPSEC with the Shrewsoft client and could not get that to work either.
3) I was able to get it to work once - thinking I was home free, I changed the shared secret to something more complex and, since then, it no longer works.  Why would this be?

Any help is appreciated - I feel like I just wasted a bunch of money (the only reason I bought the router was for the VPN capabilities).

Thanks,
Mark

I would contact your regional D-Link support office and inquire about help and information regarding this configuration.

Or you might get some response here:

Let us know how it goes.
