Slow interface response and wireless status not populating
« on: November 19, 2011, 09:13:52 AM »

I just purchased this DIR-827 wireless router to replace my 3+ year old (and ever frustrating) DIR-655.

Current issues with this router so far:
 - The router's user interface is slow to react much of the time
 - The Status > Wireless page only displays the client list a portion of the time
 - The auto log-out page takes upwards of a minute to get from the screen you timed out on to the login page again.  Display white while in transition.

My desktop access the interface is Win7 with IE9, so there should be any issue with this.  Tried access the UI with Chrome, still performs poorly.

Any suggestions or recommendations?

Thanks
J.

What Hardware version is your router?
What Firmware version is currently loaded?

Ensure DNS IP addresses are being filled in under Setup/Internet/Manual? You can copy and paste these from under Status/Device Info/Wan section.
Turn off ALL QoS (DIR only) GameFuel (DGL only and if ON.) options.
Turn off Advanced DNS Services if you have this option under Setup/Internet/Manual.
Turn on DNS Relay under Setup/Networking.
Setup DHCP reserved IP addresses for all devices on the router.
Ensure devices are set to auto obtain an IP address.
Set Firewall settings to Endpoint Independent for TCP and UDP.

What wireless modes are you using?
Try single mode G or mixed G and N?
What security mode are you using? WEP, WPA or WPA2? Preferred is WPA-Personal. WPA2/Auto TPIK and AES.
What wireless devices do you have connected?
Any cordless house phones?
Any other WiFi routers in the area?
Turn off Short GI under Advanced/Adv. Wireless.

Turn off all anti virus and firewall programs on PC while testing.
Turn off all devices accept for one wired PC while testing.

Let us know the results of your changes you made.

Also does this happen if you use a wired connection as a test?
