Best D-Link Camera for Low Light Capability
« on: June 13, 2015, 04:47:31 PM »

I'm wondering what the best D-Link Camera is, at under $300, for low light conditions.  I don't mean with IR LED.   My 2 D-link cameras say 0 lux.  that is a useless spec.  It says nothing about what the light handling capabilities are.  Long before the IR comes on, there is so much graininess that the motion sensing false triggers.  Not to mention the just horrible video.

I need a camera that produces very low noise, under low light conditions.  I have the DCS-2330L and the DCS5222L but both of those are very poor in low light.  Even in a room that is lit by outside light, there is so much noise that it false triggers the motion sensing.  They work reasonably well in bright light and do a good job, under IR.  But it's in the area of low light but before IR kicks in, that the problem occurs.  I am looking for a camera that does will in sub 1 lux lighting, without IR.

Are there any good D-Link cameras for low light conditions.  Say, .1 to .2 lux, without IR LED?

I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.
Let us know how it goes please.

I like the dcs2230 2mp (not an L model). It has a low noise setting.
Also the new dcs2136l 1mp,color night is supposed to be good. .but has a white led. Is price had come down some. I suspect though this camera is like a 2230 in low noise mode color with the led. ..i not sure if it is really anything super special from what I've read and seen online. I could probably tune my 2230 and use a white led flashlight and obtain the wake results?
